Democratic System
9 year’s struggle finally paid off, and democracy has returned in Pakistan. Now, you may call it result of Politician’s struggle or lawyer’s movement’s effect, call it aftermath of Pakistan’s deteriorating economy or outcome of hopes of whole nation, no matter what you call it, due one or more of these reasons, we can once again call our country democratic.
When a democratic system is working completely, it’s beauty is that no matter what people are in it (I won’t name Farooq H Naik, Rehman Malik or Sulman Taseer here), it itself starts to solve the problems. If we look in past, Musharaf broke the democratic system and combined politics and army, he was practicing politics and handling the responsibility of army too. This combination was causing damage to the country, whose result show us some tripping politicians like Choudry Brothers but also deteriorated our borders’ conditions. Our army was one thing, but even America broke through our borders and dropped bombs on our innocent citizens whenever they wanted. In this situation, Musharaf was half the times busy giving protections to these selfish and hypocrite politicians and other times making lame excuses for America’s cruel murderous spree. Anyways, we can’t talk about principles, cause even now many principles are being spoiled.
America can never digest it whenever Pakistan starts on the path towards democracy, one reason for this might be that his motives can only be given guaranteed protection in dictatorship, as dictators are not answerable to anyone and to reach his own goals, he fulfills Americas motives with complete devotion
To understand this you just have to look around. Just as Zardari became president America not only started attacking our tribal areas but also started giving irresponsible statements and has said that America is changing it’s Afghan policy and keeps the right to attack on both sides of border. But as Pakistan has mostly democracy now and constitution is restored too, General Kiyani has said that Pakistan hasn’t made any truce which would result in anyone’s force to violate Pakistan’s border and he also assured that any such act will be faced by powerful response. Pakistani president Zardari has also announced that Pakistan’s border will be completely protected. Maybe neither Zardari nor General Kiyani has such power, this power is given to them from democracy because pubic is the largest member in this system and no other power can face people’s power. It is democratic system that strengthens all institutions and helps in betterment of public relations between them and give them time to improve. Democratic system is not run by people, but people are run by this system, this system doesn’t need any power, but power needs this system.
India has progressed much more than us and has made it’s place everywhere in the world, this is not cause India has very sincere politicians or that they have great talent, it is only because their democratic system’s continuous working. Every institution works in it’s own limits. They have more corruption than us but they also have democracy that is why even with all the problems it is continuously progressing
Now all we need is that no matter how good or bad our politicians are, we should let them work within the constraints of democratic system and give them all the time they need and stop all those powers which may try to hurt the system, may that be America or any other power.
